Such nice work. Every time I see him I always think about what his daughter told him when she found out a Rap producer wanted to record him and she said '' I wonder how this is gonna work.โ Just knowing the acts Rick had worked with, it did cross my mind: โIs he gonna try to make some kind of parody out of dad?โ After Hurt was recorded she came over to his house and he was sitting at the Piano listening to ''Hurt'' over and over. It was plain to see they both loved it

I didn't know that little story. I loved the Nine Inch Nails original but the Cash recording is just so sad and beautiful - particularly given his crumbling health and personal life at the time.
