Description
Because They are Dead
Abandoned old houses, compellingly strong.
They whisper rich tales of whom once they belonged.
These dwellings, they lure me, not even sure why.
The shattered glass windows, and I want to cry.
I am seduced by the stories, forever untold.
I am enthralled with such beauty, from something so old.
Abandoned houses with wood rot and decay
cause me to shiver and I want to stay.
And to blend with these feelings of memories long gone.
Seemingly lonely, they creak and they yawn.
Rickety warped walls, with rancid secrets inside,
telling truths of the past, of those who have cried.
These old houses speak while so deliciously still.
Gray splintered wood, and I get a chill.
The darkness inside them; the shadows, the black.
Broken structures, once new, now reduced to a shack.
They beckon; they moan, and they enter my head.
Abandoned houses have Life, because they are Dead.

What a photo, Mal! I haven't seen anything this achingly beautiful in a long time. Great work! L/F -- Joe.

Thank you Joe, it certainly is a most amazing place, which I only recently discovered myself.
